1- CARPET FEATURES

The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are also completely produced by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with madder, i.e., natural materials. For example, to obtain the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called madder-dyed yarns. Carpets produced from madder-dyed yarns become brighter with use. On the other hand, this carpet is a top-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 3,000,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.

2- HISTORY OF THE CARPET

Sultani carpets are an important part of the rich carpet weaving tradition of the Ottoman Empire. 3- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Carpet cleaning varies depending on the material of the carpet and the type of dirt. Since this carpet is made of wool yarns dyed with madder, carpet shampoos or detergents containing chemical substances should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this carpet, the relevant part should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, the relevant part should be wiped with a cloth by lathering white bar soap. It should also be noted that in case of a spill on the carpet, immediate intervention is very important. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much more difficult to remove.
