1- CARPET CHARACTERISTICS
This rug's warp and weft are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarn is entirely hand-made using a spinning wheel. The wool yarn used in the knots is dyed with Vegetable Dyeds, meaning natural materials. For example, to obtain red, the wool yarn is boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called Vegetable-dyed yarns. Rugs made from Vegetable-dyed yarns develop a brighter appearance with use. On the other hand, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, or double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 700,000 hand knots were made in the weaving of this rug.

2- THE HISTORY OF CARPETS
The origins of Uşak carpets date back to the 15th century. During this period, carpet weaving and textile arts began to spread in the Ottoman Empire, and Uşak became an important carpet production center. Also during this time, thanks to the right to trade granted to ambassadors who came to the country as a result of the capitulations, Uşak carpets began to be recognized abroad.
Uşak carpets gained significant importance during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, and new qualities and patterns unique to Uşak were woven by special weavers brought from the Azerbaijan region by Sultan Suleiman. These patterns were designed by decorative artists and painters. Today, Uşak carpets are still used in homes and are also displayed in palaces and museums.
3- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Since this carpet is made from wool yarn dyed with natural dyes, chemical carpet shampoos or detergents should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this carpet, first rinse the affected area thoroughly with a paper towel; then, lather up a bar of white soap and wipe the area with a cloth. It is also important to remember that immediate action is crucial when something is spilled on the carpet. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped away, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much more difficult to remove.
