1- RUG CHARACTERISTICS

The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are entirely produced by hand using a drop spindle (kirman). The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with natural dyes (kök boya). For example, to achieve red, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs produced from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 1,000,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

If any liquid is spilled on this carpet, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, a bar of white soap should be lathered and the area wiped with a cloth.
