The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-produced using a spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with natural root dyes. For example, to achieve the red color, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this manner are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a top-quality carpet in terms of weaving density, woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 280,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.
