1-CARPET FEATURES

The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are entirely handmade using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with root dyes, i.e., natural materials. For example, to obtain the color red, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this manner are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a high-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; this feature makes it more durable and gives it a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 420,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Carpet cleaning varies depending on the carpet's material and the type of dirt. Since this carpet is made of root-dyed wool yarns, carpet shampoos or detergents containing chemicals should not be used. If any liquid spills on this carpet, the affected area should first be thoroughly rinsed with a paper towel; then, the area should be wiped with a cloth using lathered white bar soap. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something spills on the carpet. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped, the stain penetrates the warp and becomes much more difficult to remove.
