1-FEATURES OF THE RUG
The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are produced entirely by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed using root dyes, which means natural materials. For example, to obtain the color red, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs produced from root-dyed yarns gain a shinier appearance as they are used. On the other hand, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weave density and was woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 340,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Rug cleaning varies according to the material of the rug and the type of stain. Since this rug is made of root-dyed wool yarn, carpet shampoo or detergents containing chemicals should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the area should first be blotted thoroughly with a paper towel; then, the area should be wiped with a cloth using a lather of white bar soap. It should also be kept in mind that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on a rug. If the spilled liquid remains on the rug for a long time without being wiped, the stain will seep into the warp and become much more difficult to remove. Finally, we recommend that you entrust the washing of this rug to a professional rug cleaner you trust who specializes in hand-woven rugs. If you reside in Istanbul, you can contact us for rug cleaning.
