1- FEATURES OF THE RUG
The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, while the knots are wool yarn. The yarns were produced entirely by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used for the knots are dyed using root dyes, that is, natural materials. For instance, to obtain the color red, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the petal; such dyed yarns are referred to as yarns dyed with root dyes. Rugs produced from yarns dyed with root dyes acquire a more vibrant appearance as they are used. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality piece in terms of weaving density and has been woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Iranian rugs. Finally, approximately 325,000 hand knots have been tied in the weaving of this rug.

Sultani rugs are an important part of the Ottoman Empire's rich rug-weaving tradition. These rugs were produced specifically for use in Ottoman palaces and significant venues, particularly during the 16th and 17th centuries. These rugs were woven with high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Moreover, they were produced specifically for the residents of the Ottoman Empire's palaces and for the residences of high-ranking diplomats and palace chambers.
These rugs generally bear traces of the cultural and artistic traditions of the Ottoman Empire. Floral patterns, tree motifs, geometric designs, and figurative symbols are motifs used in Sultani rugs. These motifs not only reflect the aesthetic value of the rug but also carry traces of the period in which they were woven. 3- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Rug cleaning varies depending on the material of the rug and the type of stain. Since this rug is made of wool yarns dyed with root dyes, rug shampoos or detergents containing chemicals should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, the area should be wiped with a cloth using white bar soap lather.
