1- CARPET FEATURES
The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns were also produced entirely by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots were dyed using root dyes, i.e., natural materials. For example, to obtain the red color, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets produced from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a high-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven with a Turkish knot, also known as a double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 325,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.

2- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Carpet cleaning varies according to the material of the carpet and the type of dirt. Since this carpet is made of wool yarns dyed with root dyes, carpet shampoo or detergent containing chemical substances should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this carpet, first thoroughly rinse the affected area with a paper towel; then, wipe the affected area with a cloth after lathering white bar soap. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on the carpet. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped off, the stain penetrates the warp and becomes much more difficult to remove. Finally, we recommend having this carpet cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner you trust who specializes in hand-knotted carpets. If you reside in Istanbul, you can contact us for carpet cleaning.
