1-FEATURES OF THE RUG

The warp and weft of this rug are made of cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns were produced entirely by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used for the knots were dyed using root dyes, which means natural materials. For example, to obtain the color red, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called yarns dyed with root dye. Rugs produced from yarns dyed with root dye become more vibrant in appearance as they are used. On the other hand, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and has been woven using the Turkish knot technique, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 900,000 hand knots were made in the weaving of this rug.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Rug cleaning varies according to the material of the rug and the type of stain. Since this rug is made of wool yarns dyed with root dye, carpet shampoos or detergents containing chemical substances should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the area should first be blotted thoroughly with a paper towel; then, the area should be wiped with a cloth using the foam of a white bar soap. It should also be kept in mind that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on a rug. If the spilled liquid remains on the rug for a long time without being wiped, the stain will penetrate the warp, making it much more difficult to remove. Finally, we recommend that you entrust the washing of this rug to a professional rug cleaner you trust who specializes in hand-woven rugs.
