The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are also produced entirely by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed using natural root dyes. For example, to achieve the color red, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this manner are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 560,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

If any liquid spills on this rug, first thoroughly blot the affected area with a paper towel; then, lather white bar soap and wipe the area with a cloth.
