1- CARPET FEATURES
The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are also entirely produced by hand using a kirman. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with root dyes, meaning natural materials. For example, to achieve red, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this manner are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs produced from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. On the other hand, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, or double knot, technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 450,000 hand-tied knots were used in the weaving of this rug.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Carpet cleaning varies depending on the material of the carpet and the type of dirt. Since this rug is made of wool yarns dyed with root dyes, carpet shampoo or detergent containing chemical substances should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this rug, first thoroughly rinse the affected area with a paper towel; then, lather white bar soap and wipe the area with a cloth. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on the rug. If the spilled liquid remains on the rug for a long time without being wiped, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much more difficult to remove. Finally, we recommend that you entrust the cleaning of this rug to a professional carpet cleaner whom you trust and who specializes in hand-woven rugs. If you reside in Istanbul, you can contact us for carpet cleaning.
