The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are also produced entirely by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with natural dyes, meaning natural materials. For example, to achieve the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called natural-dyed yarns. Rugs made from natural-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 560,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, a white bar soap should be lathered and the area wiped with a cloth.
