The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-spun using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used for the knots are root-dyed, meaning natural materials are used for coloring. For example, to achieve the red color, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn absorbs the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a top-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets.
