The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are entirely produced by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with madder, i.e., natural materials. For example, to obtain the color red, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called madder-dyed yarns. Carpets made from madder-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. On the other hand, this carpet is a high-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 560,000 hand knots were made in the weaving of this carpet.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Carpet cleaning varies depending on the carpet's material and the type of dirt. Since this carpet is made of madder-dyed wool yarns, carpet shampoo or detergent containing chemical substances should not be used. If any liquid spills on this carpet, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, white bar soap should be lathered up and the area wiped with a cloth. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something spills on the carpet. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped, the stain penetrates the warp and becomes much harder to remove.
