The weft and warp of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely produced by hand using a spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with madder, meaning natural materials. For example, to obtain the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called madder-dyed yarns. Carpets made from madder-dyed yarns acquire a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a top-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets.
