1- CARPET FEATURES
The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely handmade using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with natural dyes (kök boya). For example, to achieve red, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this manner are called natural-dyed yarns. Carpets made from natural-dyed yarns become more lustrous with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a high-quality rug in terms of knot density and is woven with Turkish knots, also known as double knots; this feature makes it more durable and gives it a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 300,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.

2- HISTORY OF THE CARPET
Sultani carpets are an important part of the rich carpet weaving tradition of the Ottoman Empire. These carpets were produced especially for use in Ottoman palaces and important venues during the 16th and 17th centuries. These carpets were woven with high-quality materials and very meticulous craftsmanship. Moreover, they were specifically produced for the residences and palace rooms of Ottoman Empire palace residents and high-ranking diplomats.
These carpets generally bear traces of the cultural and artistic traditions of the Ottoman Empire. Flowers, tree motifs, geometric patterns, and figurative symbols are among the motifs used in Sultani carpets. These motifs not only reflect the aesthetic value of the carpet but also carry traces of the period in which they were woven. Today, Sultani carpets are generally colorful and produced in a style that harmonizes with modern and classic furniture.
3- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Carpet cleaning varies depending on the material of the carpet and the type of dirt. Since this carpet is made of natural-dyed wool yarns, carpet shampoo or detergents containing chemicals should not be used. If any liquid spills on this carpet, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, white bar soap should be lathered up, and the area wiped with a cloth. It should also be noted that immediate action is crucial when something spills on the carpet. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much harder to remove. Finally, we recommend entrusting the washing of this carpet to a professional carpet cleaner whom you trust and who specializes in hand-woven carpets.
