1- RUG FEATURES
The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are also produced entirely by hand using a drop spindle (kirman). The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with root dyes, meaning natural materials. For example, to obtain the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs made from root-dyed yarns have a brighter appearance with use. On the other hand, this rug is a top-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 1,000,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

2- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Rug cleaning varies according to the rug's material and the type of dirt. Since this rug is made of wool yarns dyed with root dyes, chemical-containing rug shampoo or detergent should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, the area should be wiped with a cloth using lathered white bar soap. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on the rug. If the spilled liquid remains on the rug for a long time without being wiped, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much more difficult to remove. Finally, we recommend entrusting the washing of this rug to a professional rug cleaner whom you trust and who specializes in hand-woven rugs. If you reside in Istanbul, you can contact us for rug cleaning.
