1- CARPET FEATURES
The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-produced using a spindle. The wool yarns used for the knots are dyed with madder (root dye), meaning natural materials. For example, to obtain the color red, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets made from root-dyed yarns become more lustrous with use. Moreover, this carpet is a top-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 1,000,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Carpet cleaning varies depending on the material of the carpet and the type of dirt. Since this carpet is made of wool yarns dyed with madder, carpet shampoos or detergents containing chemicals should not be used. If any liquid spills on this carpet, the affected area should first be thoroughly rinsed with a paper towel; then, the area should be wiped with a cloth lathered with white bar soap. It should also be noted that immediate action is very important when something spills on the carpet. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped off, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much more difficult to remove. Finally, we recommend having this carpet cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner you trust who specializes in hand-knotted carpets. If you reside in Istanbul, you can contact us for carpet cleaning.
