1- CARPET FEATURES

The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are also entirely handmade using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with madder (root dye), meaning natural materials. For example, to obtain the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called madder-dyed yarns. Carpets made from madder-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. On the other hand, this carpet is a high-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 325,000 hand knots were made in the weaving of this carpet.

2- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Carpet cleaning varies depending on the material of the carpet and the type of dirt. Since this carpet is made of wool yarns dyed with madder, carpet shampoo or detergent containing chemicals should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this carpet, the affected area should first be thoroughly rinsed with a paper towel; then, a white bar of soap should be lathered and the affected area wiped with a cloth. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on the carpet. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped, the stain penetrates the warp and becomes much more difficult to remove.
