The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-spun using a kirman (drop spindle). The wool yarns used in the knots are root-dyed, meaning natural materials were used for coloring. For example, to achieve the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 1,000,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

3- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Carpet cleaning varies depending on the material of the carpet and the type of dirt. Since this rug is made from root-dyed wool yarns, chemical-based carpet shampoos or detergents should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, a cloth should be used to wipe the area with lathered white bar soap. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on the rug.
