The warp and weft of this carpet are made of cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-spun using a kirman (drop spindle). The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with root dyes, meaning natural materials. For example, to achieve the color red, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a top-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 210,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.
