The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed using madder dyes, meaning natural materials. For example, to obtain the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, which takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called madder-dyed yarns. Carpets made from madder-dyed yarns become more lustrous with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a high-quality carpet in terms of weaving density, woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique. This feature makes it more durable and has a longer lifespan than Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 900,000 hand-knotted yarns were used in the weaving of this carpet.

They were produced in the regions of Uşak, Hereke, and Kayseri, which were the centers of carpet making at the time.
