1- CARPET FEATURES

The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are also entirely handmade using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed using natural root dyes. For example, to achieve red, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this carpet is of superior quality in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; this feature makes it more durable and gives it a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 325,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.
