1- RUG SPECIFICATIONS
The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-spun using a spindle. The wool yarns used for the knots are dyed with natural root dyes. For example, to achieve red, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn absorbs the rose petal color; yarns dyed this way are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs made from root-dyed yarns become brighter with use. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 600,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

2- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Rug cleaning varies according to the rug's material and the type of dirt. Since this rug is made from wool yarns dyed with root dyes, chemical-based rug shampoos or detergents should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, the area should be wiped with a cloth using lathered white bar soap. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on the rug. If the spilled liquid remains on the rug for a long time without being wiped, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much harder to remove. Finally, we recommend having this rug cleaned by a professional rug cleaner whom you trust and who specializes in hand-woven rugs. If you reside in Istanbul, you can contact us for rug cleaning.
