The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely produced by hand using a drop spindle. The wool yarns used for the knots are dyed with natural root dyes. For example, to achieve the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets made from root-dyed yarns become brighter with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a top-quality carpet in terms of weaving density, woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; this feature makes it more durable and gives it a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets.
