1-RUG FEATURES
The weft and warp of this rug are cotton, and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are also produced entirely by hand using a kirman. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with madder, i.e., natural materials. For example, to obtain the color red, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called madder-dyed yarns. Rugs made with madder-dyed yarns acquire a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 400,000 hand knots were made in the weaving of this rug.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Rug cleaning varies depending on the rug's material and the type of dirt. Since this rug is made of madder-dyed wool yarns, rug shampoos or detergents containing chemicals should not be used. If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the affected area should first be thoroughly rinsed with a paper towel; then, a white bar soap should be lathered, and the area should be wiped with a cloth. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something is spilled on the rug. If the spilled liquid remains on the rug for a long time without being wiped, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much more difficult to remove. Finally, we recommend entrusting the washing of this rug to a professional rug cleaner whom you trust and who washes hand-woven rugs. If you reside in Istanbul, you can contact us for rug cleaning.
