The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-spun using a spindle. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with natural root dyes. For example, to achieve red, the wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn absorbs the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 350,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Rug cleaning varies depending on the material of the rug and the type of dirt. Since this rug is made from root-dyed wool yarns, chemical carpet shampoos or detergents should not be used. If any liquid spills on this rug, first rinse the affected area thoroughly with a paper towel; then, lather white bar soap and wipe the area with a cloth.
