1- RUG FEATURES

The warp and weft of this rug are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-spun using a kirman (drop spindle). The wool yarns used for the knots are dyed with madder (kök boya), meaning natural dyes. For example, to obtain red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petals; yarns dyed in this way are called madder-dyed yarns. Rugs made with madder-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this rug is a high-quality rug in terms of weaving density and is woven using the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Finally, approximately 450,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this rug.

3- CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

If any liquid is spilled on this rug, the affected area should first be thoroughly blotted with a paper towel; then, a cloth should be used to wipe the area with lathered white bar soap.
