1-CARPET SPECIFICATIONS
The warp and weft of this carpet are cotton and the knots are wool yarn. The yarns are also produced entirely by hand using a kirman. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with natural dyes, also known as root dyes. For example, to obtain the color red, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, and the yarn takes on the color of the rose petal; yarns dyed in this way are called root-dyed yarns. Carpets made from root-dyed yarns gain a brighter appearance with use. Furthermore, this carpet is a high-quality carpet in terms of weaving density and is woven with the Turkish knot, also known as the double knot technique; thanks to this feature, it is more durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian carpets. Finally, approximately 340,000 hand knots were tied in the weaving of this carpet.

2-CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Carpet cleaning varies depending on the material of the carpet and the type of dirt. Since this carpet is made from root-dyed wool yarns, chemical-containing carpet shampoo or detergent should not be used. If any liquid spills on this carpet, first thoroughly dry the affected area with a paper towel; then, lather white bar soap and wipe the area with a cloth. It should also be noted that immediate intervention is very important when something spills on the carpet. If the spilled liquid remains on the carpet for a long time without being wiped, the stain will penetrate the warp and become much more difficult to remove. Finally, we recommend having this carpet washed by a professional carpet cleaner whom you trust and who washes hand-woven carpets. If you reside in Istanbul, you can contact us for carpet cleaning.
